We tow a 2004 Ford Ranger Edge. Have the Remco driveshaft disconnect installed. Ranger has auto transmission. No problem towing.

I have towed a ranger with automatic transmission for the past 3 years. I installed a Remco D/S disconnect and a Demco base plate. It worked well. If you were here in Canada I would give you a good deal on the parts as I have now gone with a Chev HHR.

Check the Remco towing application charts.

Mine with manual transmission: I put it in neutral, key in the "off" position, parking brake released, towbar hooked up to baseplate, auxiliary lights plugged into socket on motorhome.

So my only mods are the baseplate and the extra lights installed under the rear bumper. There are other solutions for lighting, this was just an easy one.
