Topic: Drawer Slide Release???

Posted By: Rich Panganiban on 09/24/10 10:12pm

I really need to get back into the cabinets behind the drawers in our galley. How do I release the slider tracks on the actual drawer to remove the drawer itself? Here's what it looks like:

Thanks!

There should be a little black plastic release lever at the joint where the two parts of the rails meet. You push it either down or up with your thumbnails to release the catches. (Likely down) They are spring loaded.
Be sure the drawer is nearly fully extended, but not quite all the way when you do this.

Once you push the release catches, pull the drawer out towards you and the rail will come apart.

Unfortunately the pic is blurred. But there appears to be a black tab coming out of the back slide part. Push and hold down and the other side could be up or down and that will release the front slide part as you pull the drawer out.

On my drawers you just lift the outer end of the drawer to take it out.

On mine, you push one of the little black levers down, and the other one up, while gently pulling the drawer out.
Good luck.
John.

That is a full extension slide. There should be 2 release clips, one on each side. You push one side down and the other side up and it will release. To re-install, line up the tracks, and pus the drawer all the way in and then it will be locked back into position. They will be located inside the u shaped channel that is mounted to the drawer. You will need to pull the drawer out as far as it will go before you are able to release the locks.
